"It sounded real good. The MiniWatt reminded me of the crystalline, fast as a whip.............With a very low noise floor and apparently very high rise times, this recipe can net a very fast, detailed sound that's not dry, chalky or relentlessly transient occupied at all but rather, color intense. And very impressive in the bass. There was clearly more to MiniWatt than cuteness and miniaturization."

$229 vacuum tube amplifier wows audiophiles.

If you think all high-end products are stupid expensive or mammoth monstrosities, the MiniWatt vacuum tube integrated amplifier should change your mind. What differentiates high-end gear from mass market technology is performance

The world's smallest integrated valve amplifier?

The tone was rich and made all instruments sound beautiful, and vocals were accurate, and on some recordings, quite intimate. That clarity was still prominent, with all the little details coming out of the 'better' recordings. Suffice to say that it had me riveted to my chair for a long session, thoroughly enjoying what I was listening too. All in all it was another very good performance although there was a limit to how loud it would go in that much larger room. It was 'loud enough', but certainly nowhere near 'partying level'!

This is a great amplifier, period. If you are just starting out in HiFi, you can make a pair of single driver, high efficiency speakers, add a source and be digging music on a pretty tight budget that you will really enjoy and our world definitely needs more products like this. And I can’t think of a more fun way to enter the world of vacuum tube audio if you haven’t yet.

This amplifier, Minnie, has true audiophile quality. She has clarity and sharp leading edges (transistors' good qualities), with bloom and in-focus images (tubes good qualities), free of veils of old-fashioned diode bridges and manually wound transformers. She can produce pretty robust bass through appropriate speakers, and similarly extended highs; but she shines in the mid-range (where 90% of the music is). She is a very well conceived piece of design engineering that reaps the benefits of long term developments in the whole of electronic history.

But if you ever wanted to get your feet wet in the
SET pool, this would definitely be an easier hop to make then the leap for a Cary 300SEs. Obviously you get 8 watts and a completely different sound from the 300B tube, but like my buddy said there might just be a SET effect that sucks you in like a tractor beam. I do know that it will be with regret that I send back the Miniwatt, it has been an eye opening experience.

I fully agree that any audiophile who swears by
"high end" should listen to this little wonder to place himself back in the reality. And finally I think that every music lover should listen to this
amplifier because it would make them realize that getting great sound doesn?t need to cost that much, it just takes a Mini Watt!

I think he breaks MiniWatt S1 prejudice. For me in terms of members who hear him, is almost magic - a man so small, but with a sound so big and impressive. Power level is required Nzilim speakers of 90db or more to produce the power required to work area and even bedroom levels well enough.

So in terms of sound quality here is hiding the real secret: If your music is kind of jazz, easy, or classical, so ridiculous price of $ 229 you can get quality men that cost several times fail to provide thereby expressed the MiniWatt S1 greatness.

“simplicity is the ultimate sophistication”

Simplicity is good – simplicity can be good for our senses too. Amidst all the complexity and high power output combination & integrated systems, the MiniWatt is like a whiff of fresh air, delivering high on fidelity and detailed sound reproduction – which goes to show that you do not need an expensive, complex and powerful device to deliver – a simple MiniWatt does the same, and does it with complete ease.
